Supporting Those Who Lead the Way: Our Commitment to Volunteers

At the heart of every great Scouting adventure is a dedicated volunteer. Whether you are leading a troop through the wilderness, teaching a new skill, or managing behind-the-scenes logistics, your contribution is the engine that drives our mission. We believe that to give our youth the best possible experience, we must first ensure our volunteers feel valued, prepared, and inspired.
Our commitment to you is built on four key pillars:
1. Accessible, Low-Cost Training
We believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of leadership. We provide affordable, high-quality training programs designed to give you the practical skills and safety knowledge you need to lead with confidence. From outdoor skills to youth protection and administration, we invest in your competence so you can focus on the fun.
2. A Culture of Recognition
Your time is a gift, and we don't take it for granted. We are dedicated to a robust recognition program that celebrates the milestones, hard work, and unique talents of our volunteers. Whether it’s a formal award, a thank-you at a campfire, or a profile on our website, we make sure your impact is seen and celebrated by the entire Scouting community.
3. Pathways for Personal Growth
Scouting isn't just about the growth of our youth; it’s about the evolution of our leaders. We offer a variety of workshops and mentorship opportunities that help you develop transferable skills like project management, public speaking, and conflict resolution. When you volunteer with us, you aren't just giving back—you're moving forward.
4. Leadership Opportunities
As you grow within the organization, we are committed to opening doors. We actively encourage our volunteers to take on new leadership roles, whether at the unit, region, or council level. Your experience is vital to our future, and we provide the "scaffolding" you need to step into higher-level positions where you can help shape the direction of Scouting for years to come.

"Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in."
